Northrop Grumman Corporation (NYSE: NOC) proudly announces that Dr. Gilbert “Chip” Jones, a distinguished systems engineer within the company, will be celebrated at the 38th annual Black Engineer of the Year Awards (BEYA) during the STEM Global Competitiveness Conference. Alongside Dr. Jones, five Northrop Grumman colleagues will be honored as BEYA Science Spectrum Trailblazers, and another 17 will receive accolades as BEYA Modern Day Technology Leaders.
Dr. Jones is set to receive the prestigious 2024 BEYA Legacy Award, in recognition of his significant contributions to systems engineering and his dedication to nurturing emerging talent in the STEM fields through mentorship and educational support. The accolade underscores his role in steering future advancements and fostering a new generation of STEM professionals. The individuals honored as BEYA Science Spectrum Trailblazers include Jermaine Azu, Deshawn Brown, Jada Gray, Kasey McCoy, and Leah Williams, acknowledging their pioneering efforts and achievements. The 17 Northrop Grumman staff members receiving the BEYA Modern Day Technology Leader awards are Mahlet Adamu, Justin Bates, Diana Boseman, Nicolle Collins, Roberts Etumnu, Travene Grant, Derrick Harris, Kevin Harrison, Kendall Hayman, Leah Horton, Kyle Lowe, Jerome McDonald, John Robinson, Michael Saiki, Kadeem Spencer, Deionn Yarberough, and Malcolm Young, celebrated for their innovative contributions to technology.
